The Instrumentation and Control Tech inspects, troubleshoots, renovates, repairs, and installs instrumentation and controls systems, electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment on a regular basis, while following administrative procedures to ensure that the work is performed in a safe, efficient, and cost effective manner. This position is located at our Clarksdale, MS location!

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensures all assigned maintenance activities are being performed safely and according to plant and corporate safety standards and policies.
  • Develops and execute Electrical Preventive Maintenance procedures (EPM) for plant instrumentation & control systems and electrical systems.
  • Conducts instrumentation evaluation and troubleshooting for electrical, pneumatic, electronic as well as programmable logic control (PLC) systems.
  • Ensures to commission instrumentation effective following with repair and replacement.
  • Conducts test related to functional performance on instrumentation as needed by facility changes.
  • Involve in evaluation of instrument performance to identify optimization and enhancement opportunities.
  • Ensures conformance with environmental and safety requirements commensurate with executing required instrument maintenance or replacement activities.
  • Maintains and update awareness of modifications to regulatory needs related to conduct of maintenance and construction of instrument.
  • Ensures to interpret and suitably use ISA and CSA codes along with API installation practices and standards.
  • Complies with classification and prioritization system for completion of work order.
  • Assists planning plus operations staff to identify skills and resource needed to complete planning and reactive work activities.
  • Complies with every approved operation and maintenance procedures.
  • Performs with maintenance planners as schedule work load.
  • Conducts on-going aseptic maintenance and clean room area.
  • Communicates regularly on a daily basis with Reliability and  Production Supervisors
  • Confirms and enter actual hours worked, reliability information ( Object, Cause, Damage,  Remedy, & comments), and  required components used  into SAP for work orders
  • Document work changes  and communicates to Maintenance Supervisor
  • Works within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)/SAP and utilizes its functionality in daily maintenance activities.

 

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED. (2 Year Technical diploma preferred)
  • 3-5 years of maintenance experience, with strong troubleshooting skills
  • Thorough technical knowledge in the field of industrial maintenance that meets sites competency requirements

 

Job Required Skills:

  • Good oral and written communication skills are required to explain and interpret information, ideas, or make recommendations on a daily basis.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical/wiring drawings and diagrams
  • Knowledge of  National Electric Code
  • Ability to operate and maintain electrical diagnostic tools such as digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and PLC’s.
  • Knowledge of DC & AC motors and controllers
  • Capable of installing power wiring, conduit, and cables
  • Ability to diagnose and control the action of electrical current by the use of switches, condensers, transformers, rheostats , and other electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical theory including but not limited to familiarity with the principles electrical currents and voltages under the variety of conditions within equipment or supporting devices at the site.
  • Works well with individuals within and outside the workgroup
  • The physical demands of this job require frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking, and hearing. 
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, able to climb ladders, and work at elevations up to 175 feet
