The Tire Technician for Cooper Service store here in Findlay, OH will complete tire service work including dismounting, mounting, balancing, repair, installation and rotation; oil & filter changes & lubrication; minor automotive repair; battery installation; assisting mechanics; unloading freight trucks; storing tires; road service; shop housekeeping; pickup and delivery.

 

This role is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door at Cooper Service and move into a mechanic role after completion of certifications!

  • Working hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30am-5:30pm and every other Saturday 8am-12pm. We are not open on Sundays.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Job Responsibilities:

  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Learn how to diagnose and repair basic systems to become certified in a minimum of 5 areas with a preference for brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Change oil, filters, windshield wipers, bulbs, and belts.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Install batteries and check electrical systems.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Install tires and perform tire maintenance.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Lifting capability up to 100 lbs. or more.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Work in a busy, loud, and physical environment.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Work closely with and assist Mechanic(s) performing repair activities.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Perform technician duties in an efficient and precise manner.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Unload tire shipments and load scrap tires into trailers.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Use TPMS tools for relearning and diagnostics.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Road test vehicles.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must become TIA certified within the first 12 months of employment.  Must have ASE General Tech testing scheduled within 24 months of holding this position.

 

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Basic Qualifications:

  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Demonstrate the ability to learn basic mechanical tasks.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">High level of motivation, energy and a customer-focused attitude.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must be able to work Saturdays and overtime as required.
