The Global Senior Quality Manager is responsible for leading the Global Quality Process Systems team to assure consistent manufacturing quality by developing and implementing manufacturing quality systems; validating processes; providing documentation and training; and leading continuous improvement activities and projects.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership for the Cooper Production System Quality/Variation pillar while providing alignment across plants
  • Lead the development of Corporate Quality Training courses, documentation and required training matrix
  • Manage the Global Control Plan standardization and linkage to the Global PFMEA standardization, including meeting the requirements of regulatory bodies, (e.g. ISO, IATF, VDA & OE customer specific requirements)
  • Identify and provide leadership in continuous improvement projects within the Uniformity & Manufacturing team that can be used globally
  • Identify opportunities to work with other departments in the development of global uniformity, statistics and quality tools
  • Work closely with manufacturing site technical personnel to validate quality processes by establishing quality attributes, measuring production, documenting evidence, determining operational and performance qualification, and developing and updating quality documentation
  • Provide necessary quality plant support globally to drive continuous improvement activities
  • Achieve quality objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; and implementing change
  • Validate quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality documents
  • Provide support and communication between technical groups and plants
  • Assist in the development of clear metrics (KPIs/KPOs) and goals to meet the quality vision and objectives and provide visibility to top management
  • Work cross-functionally with other technical groups and plants on new product, process, measurement, and/or equipment implementations while identifying quality requirements and opportunities
  • Provide Final Finish Equipment Acceptance Criteria and final machine qualification
  • Define Project priorities with Global BIS Quality team and lead approvals for specification changes acquiring global agreement and plans for implementation in all plants
  • Define and implement Global Quality and Uniformity Improvement program linked to company’s strategic goals
  • Support OE development and plant yield activities
  • Develop R&D development projects related to Quality/process manufacturing, CAPEX requirements and linkages to R&D Tax credit systems

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires a minimum of a Bachelors degree, preferable in Engineering or at least 15+ years of experience in tire manufacturing
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a tire manufacturing environment with an additional 5-10 years’ experience in a Quality Management role in manufacturing
  • Travel up to 40%
