The Industrialization team at Cooper is looking for Technical Engineers to be a part of a newly formed department.  This team will take ideas and make them into tires.  This is a hands-on position where we will bring new tires and new materials to the manufacturing facilities. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Primary function is to take designs and materials from the Development teams and transfer them to viable production materials within our manufacturing plants.
  • Assists in the development and standardization for new construction and equipment purposes
  • Standardizes the improved processes across the unit, department, facility, organization.  Drives the use of APQP methods for both Original Equipment and Replacement tires.
  • Implements best practices in an effort to maintain standardization and improve equipment and process performance
  • Applies various engineering problem solving and productivity techniques to evaluate means to bring challenging new materials and designs in to the production floor.
  • Work closely with manufacturing site technical and processing personnel to validate process quality with new materials and designs.
  • Identify opportunities and work with other departments on the improvement of uniformity and plant processing and conditions.
  • Work cross-functionally with other technical groups and plants on new product, process, measurement, and/or equipment implementations while identifying quality requirements and opportunities
  • Work cross functionally with Marketing, Manufacturing, Engineering and other Technical Departments.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science
  • 1 to 3 years related (i.e. manufacturing, etc.) experience and/or training
  • Analytical thinking​ with a strong desire to learn
  • Effective working individually or in a cross-functional team 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Effective communicator to peers and leaders​
  • Skilled at influencing and conflict resolution​
  • Proven track record on idea conceptualization and implementation
  • Ability to Travel up to 50%


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management work experience
  • Strong data analytics background
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Black Belt
