The Business and Information Services department would like to extend an intern/co-op experience which will be multi-faceted and focused on each individual student with an emphasis on work experience, professional skill development, and involvement in both the company and the community.  Our goal is a partnership in your success and we are deliberate in our approach to ensuring your time with Cooper is rich and rewarding.

 

This position will be held from January to May 2021, candidates will be required to work a 40 hr. work week.

 

Information Technology Intern/Co-Op

There are many roles available in gaining tangible work experience in IT development.  Assignments in various roles will provide the opportunity to gain working knowledge in the areas of IT analytics, desktop services, data management, web development, SAP configuration, technical change management, and development in various tool sets.  Exposure in one or more of the areas above will be through specific assignments or projects, and on the job coaching and mentoring.  The intern/co-op will be introduced to areas intended to cultivate integrated technical understanding and awareness, as well as to develop strong customer focused communication and interaction skills which are key items we believe will lead to success in IT development.

 

     IT Analytics customer support and metrics analysis; troubleshooting and issue resolution; ITIL service support process – mapping and process improvement; communication and interaction with multiple levels of the organization

 

     Desktop Services PC deployments; software installations; PC builds; troubleshooting and issue resolution; packaging software for mass deployment; PowerShell scripting; communication and interaction with multiple levels of the organization

 

     Data Management SAP master data creation/maintenance; create/document data processes; data analysis and data profiling; quality and integrity data benchmarking; document/maintain data dictionary; communication and interaction with multiple     levels of the organization

 

     Web Development process workflow review and application to development coding; use of coding languages such as Java; use of source code management processes; ability to identify problems and resolve issues

 

     SAP Configuration troubleshooting and issue resolution; business process mapping; root cause analysis; SAP configuration and testing; support of middleware interfaces into SAP; communication and interactions with multiple levels of the organization

 

     Technical Change Management process workflow review and application; use of source code management processes; use of application testing processes

 

     Design Services Development process workflow review and application to development coding; technical writing/documentation; development in various coding languages such as Oracle, .NET, SAP ABAP, and Java; root cause analysis and solution development; new development projects/operational support of existing applications; communication and interaction with multiple levels of the organization

 

     Project Management use of project management concepts to support project delivery; process workflow review and application; problem identification and issue resolution; communication and interaction with multiple levels of the organization

 

     Cyber Security monitor web access controls; domain registration/management; identify and respond to unsafe activity; metric analysis; support cyber security related investigations; facilitate/perform vulnerability assessments and penetration tests

 

Requirements:

  • Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
  • GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale) or better (consideration given to lower GPAs depending on experiences).
  • Some knowledge of a SAP environment is a plus
  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
