The Quality Engineer is a Manufacturing Engineering role who works closely with Production and Quality to drive effectiveness of manufacturing processes and implement or assist programs to provide greater standardization, productivity, reliability, and profitability.

 

Job Specific Duties:

  • Responsible for developing and initiating standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation of materials
  • Develops sampling procedures, design of experiments, and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data to drive continuous improvement
  • Creates, maintains, and conducts training on Job Work Instructions and Process Manuals
  • Works closely with Operators, Supervisors, and Management to facilitate key project initiatives throughout the plan
  • Performs Layered Process Audits and is a key role for the annual ISO Quality Audits and Certifications
  • Responsible for running and reviewing reports with initial analysis

  • Will play the role of individual contributor on multi-disciplinary teams as knowledge base allows
  • Follows specific processes and procedures to maximize the efficiencies of the business
  • Strong computer and analytical skills
  • Ability to establish individual priorities and meet deadlines
  • Must be able to interact and communicate primarily with peers and mid-level manager levels within organization
  • Work requires continual attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple tasks and demands

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Engineering or related field OR equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education
  • 1-2 years related work experience and/or training
  • Previous manufacturing/industrial experience desired
  • Knowledge and experience with ISO Quality Certification and Auditing preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with SPC and other Lean Six Sigma training preferred
