The Industrial Engineer for our Findlay, OH facility plans utilizations of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations by performing the following duties.

  • Supports delivering on Findlay Plant operating plan of cure efficiency, scrap cost, and total conversion costs.
  • Completes and presents time and motion studies to plant management to support implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of incentive rates
  • Performs labor efficiency analyses and conducts work measurement studies  to support the production plan
  • Implements systems to provide better data and information to Production / Quality / Management. Provides periodic status reports and analyses.
  • Pursues cost reductions mainly through improved labor efficiencies and headcount reductions. Develops a thorough working knowledge of plant processes, equipment, and employee duties
  • Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste by restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, removing duplication, and identifying potential areas for consolidation.
  • Supports global process benchmarking for labor improvement opportunities across all Cooper Tire facilities
  • Enables flawless product launches by monitoring equipment and manpower capacity to deliver sales forecast. Makes comparison of actual performance to standards, draws conclusions, makes and implements recommendations
  • Completes scenario planning and sensitivity analyses to guide management decisions
  • Monitors and analyzes various plant support inputs including powered mobile equipment, carts and racks, liners for carts, and inventory levels
  • Confers and assists with management and engineering staff concerning cost justifications and to implement plans and recommendations
  • Trains Co-op Students in time and motion study principles and other required techniques
  • Manages and maintains production parameters using SAP

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field of study, Industrial Engineering preferred 
  • Minimum of 2 years technical & relevant work experience
  • Good computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power point, Access) 
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Team oriented personality

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • AutoCad experience
  • SAP experience
