<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The Project Manager is highly motivated individual with a passion for project management principles and a conviction that well run projects enable the Technical organization to deliver value to Cooper.  They are capable of focusing on project details while remaining aware of and aligned to Cooper’s Strategic Initiatives so that teams efficiently deliver solutions that visibly & measurably contribute to the success of the Technical organization and Cooper Tire.

 

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Job Responsibilities:

  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Leading teams with multiple project delivery methodologies to develop technology and products for the future focusing on New Technology Development and New Product Development which are crucial to Cooper’s strategy. 
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Demonstrated ability to deliver short-term results alongside planning for the long-term.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Leading all phases of a project lifecycle with assigned teams delivering technologies and products as specified, on cost, on time, and always focused on value delivery. 
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ensure Technical projects meet the needs of customers and achieve the stakeholder value intended by rapidly planning and streamlining execution of work with the assigned teams.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Establish and maintain project performance to objectives with regards to time, scope, cost, and stakeholder satisfaction.  Control expenditures to the project budget within limitations.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The ability to maximize stakeholder value while managing multiple constraints.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The ability to effectively manage project delivery, monitor project performance, present project financial metrics and to keep the project stakeholders informed of the project progress to completion. 
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Represent project data in charts, project schedule actual to baselines, SAP Budget Summaries, Burn Up/Burn Down charts and other tools as necessary for proper status reporting.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Confirm that the project charter or product vision statement clearly defines the project scope, success criteria, assumptions and constraints.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Identify, document and mitigate project risks and issues throughout the life of the project by working with Technical Management and project stakeholders.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Drive the process to identify, request and secure project team resources with organizational managers.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Serve as focal point for project communications internal to the Technical Group including; escalation and resolution of project risks and issues, project leadership, weekly status reports, project gate reviews and sprint meetings.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Develop and present project progress and updates to senior Technical Management regularly and as required by management.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Willingness to travel and hold meetings during non-standard hours of the day (potentially accommodating global partners).
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">May, on occasion, be required to perform other duties as necessary for efficient operation.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Driving for results in an ambiguous project landscape, using critical thinking skills and learning quickly to adapt effectively to change.

 

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Basic Qualifications:

  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management or related field
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">5 to 10 years of project management experience leading cross-functional projects.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience leading and implementing engineering related projects or other complex projects. 
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must be able to lead several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment adjusting to urgency and priorities as required to keep project on track.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Leadership Skills – Solid mastery of soft-skills, influence, negotiation and persuasion
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Communication – Strong performer in cross-functional communication with excellence in both oral and written communicator to individuals and groups
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Business Acumen – Needs to have the ability to understand business implications of decisions
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Motivation and Drive – Demonstrated persistence and overcomes obstacles
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Initiative – Looks for and takes advantage of opportunities as they arise
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience applying Project Management methodologies such as Stage-Gate, Agile, SCRUM, and Predictive
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">An understanding of lean principles and problem solving methodologies (DMAIC, Design for Six Sigma, Kaizen, Quality Improvements, etc.)

 

 

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Preferred Qualifications:

  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">PMP certification and/or Agile Certification.  If not certified, willingness to pursue certification within 1 year after accepting the position
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience with the Cooper Product Development System
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience with standard engineering system development lifecycle methodologies
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience and/or knowledge with business processes that interact with project management
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience with an enterprise portfolio, project and resource management system
