The Warehouse Expeditor assists in administrative tasks, bills outbound shipments, and works with the Shift Supervisor to create an efficient operation of warehouse. This person will also coordinate activities in the loading/unloading of trucks, as well as assist in the verification of tires regarding count and to ensure that all loading procedures are followed. This person will work with truck drivers, answer the phone, and troubleshoot issues on the warehouse floor.

 

Other job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Secures loaded trucks by sealing doors or ensuring that seals are in place and that all required paperwork and packing slips are in order and included in the shipment.
  • Communicating with other departments, such as Quality and Finishing, to insure a steady and continuous flow of finished goods into the warehouse.
  • Consolidates rows and pallets for staging and shipping
  • Maintains shift report, passing on pertinent information to persons as needed
  • Works with Inventory Control, Supervisor, Warehousemen to ensure that inventories are accurate and, if necessary, make adjustments
  • Assists to train employees in safe techniques for efficient job performance.
  • Prepares work orders as directed by Supervisor.
  • Recommends disciplinary action to Supervisor.
  • Works with Load Planner to resolve shipping issues or to expedite shipments.
  • Assists Inventory Control in cycle counting or inventory cleanup/adjustments
  • Monitors outside contractors to ensure company rules and requests are being followed. 

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to solve issues/problems with little direction or assistance
  • Ability to prevent and solve issues relating to: scheduling, order entry, truck problems, staging, and the systems used to control orders and inventory
  • Capable to anticipate and offer suggestions on process improvement
  • Must be reliable in working 8 hour days, 5 days a week, in addition to mandatory scheduled weekends

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree
  • Prior knowledge of SAP is preferred
