Job Summary

Utilizing strong communication and technical skills the Motorsports Administrative Assistant at MT is responsible for providing excellent technical and customer service as well as administrative duties within the department. This position reports to the Senior Motorsports Manager and assists customers with orders, racer support, pricing and availability, fitments, applications, troubleshooting, and proper use.  Most customer interaction will be via phone and e-mail. Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing excellent customer service to new and repeat customers
  • Effectively manage large amounts of incoming calls
  • Assist with inventory and accurately enter customer orders/releases.
  • Track shipments for UPS or truck orders.
  • Respond to customer emails.
  • Engage current and potential customers by answering product and service questions; suggesting information about additional products and services
  • Handle questions or complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits and follow up to ensure resolution
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered to customers and to appropriate company staff.
  • Attend outside events such as motorsport, off road events, customer and trade shows (<10%)
  • Keep records of customer interactions, process customer accounts, and file documents.

  • Point of Sale / Order form updates
  • Motorsports inventory Management
  • DOT Administrative support

  • Represent the organization appropriately and professionally anywhere and anytime including in- person and virtual communication
  • Exceed the customer's expectations at every opportunity. Provide information and help the customers in the best way possible.
  • Provide a positive customer experience in actions and demeanor, greet customers in a sincere positive tone and maintaining that tone throughout the conversation.

 

Education and Experience:

  • 1-3 years previous consumer Customer Service  and/or Administrative experience
  • Strong verbal and writing skills
  • High School diploma or equivalent; College degree preferred.
  • Self-motivated and proactive individual
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office applications, EDI and ERP systems; SAP experience a plus.
  • Typing, multi-line phone, and email experience.
  • Math skills are required to calculate discounts and currency conversions.

 

Product Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of current product offerings
  • Ability to make proper tire and wheel application recommendations (preferred)

 

Interpersonal, Problem Solving, or other Skills and Abilities:

  • The ability to solve practical problems with many variables and interruptions is required. The individual must be able to interpret written, oral, or schedule form instructions.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Positive demeanor, ability to be flexible, and can-do attitude.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Established shift of-8am-5pm
  • Physical requirement including sitting for long periods of time in an office setting.
