The Safety Supervisor is responsible for health and safety within their area / departments of work.

  • Consults with supervisors and inspects the department at the beginning of each shift to determines if any safety hazards are present
  • Consults with the previous shift’s supervisors and leads to assess if any safety hazards or safety issues arose over the course of the shift
  • Reviews instructions from the Department Manager concerning work conditions, problems, and action to be taken. Gives daily report to the Department Manager
  • Inspects the safety devices on each piece of equipment to determine if they conform to safety procedures.  Obtains maintenance assistance to correct deficient areas
  • Asses any injuries within the department and renders minor first aid in case of accident.
  • Asses injury and determines proper level of care for workplace injuries.
  • Investigates all workplace accidents and injuries within department.
  • Prepares report in the event of employee accidents. Interviews employees, investigates the root cause and recommends corrective action.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork pertaining to workplace accidents and injuries and reports to the area manager and safety manager
  • Responsible for tracking and facilitating all safety training needed within the work area.
  • Responsible for keeping proper communication lines open with employees for the purpose of two way communications.
